Sunburn and Prayer

Here in Northern Ireland we have been experiencing a bit of a heat wave to start of the summer these past few days – it hasn’t rained in almost a week, and the past few days have seen temperatures above 20oC – nothing special by Mediterranean or American standards but fairly impressive weather for Norn…

Let's Be Going

Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” … He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me.…

What if His people prayed?

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6v18 How often do you pray? And for how long? If you’re being honest it probably doesn’t come anywhere near the ‘all times and on every occasion’ Paul urges us to…

Prayer for a Friend

Non-Christian friend. We’ve all got them, or at least we should. We should be striving to befriend the lost, especially those that society in general has rejected, and shower them with the love of Christ, shining out to them like ‘stars in the universe’ with God’s glory. The importance of prayer

If every morning we got up and cried out to God “Father, today I ask that I would not do my will, but would carry out Your will for my life.”

Prayer

A look at some of what the bible has to say about prayer.

First, in 1st Timothy Chapter 2 Paul has these instructions for Timothy: I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Saviour, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to

Prayer Action Change

Prayer is the spark for big things. It involves getting close to God, and results with our hearts being touched by him. Prayer unleashes huge potential as God fills us with ideas, guides us as to his will, shows us the issues on his heart and urges us to do something about it. When we…
