Interview: Celebrity Pastor

With over 17,000 twitter followers the anonymous “@CelebrityPastor” is proving quite popular, sharing with his many fans the insights of what it is like to be a megachurch pastor, dealing with interns who want to take a Christmas holiday (something he is sure Paul took lots of…), organising lasers and smoke machines for the Sunday worship services, and handling the consequences of when his sermon illustration stunts go wrong. And he recently released an ebook of lessons he has learnt over the course of his ministry so that you too can be a shock and awe leader that leaves others “chocking in the dust”. He recently took the time to answer some questions for us.
Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
I am Celebrity Pastor, and I will make all your dreams come true. And possibly some of your nightmares.
What first inspired you to become a celebrity Pastor?
I simply became a Celebrity Pastor. From the moment I was born I knew I was destined for greatness. True story: a bald eagle landed on my crib the day I was born.
What makes you different from regular pastors?
The fact that I use lasers. And often preach while riding a stallion bareback.
What can people expect from one of your sermons?
Lasers, ultra hip illustrations, possibly a bald eagle, and at least fifteen fog machines. Plus a steady sound track of U2.
Which preachers do you most admire?
Bono.
Which preachers most admire you?
Yikes, I can’t think of one that wouldn’t.
Why do you think people will benefit from reading your autobiography?
Because it is possibly the second most important book ever written, behind the Bible, and will probably one day be required high school reading.
Your book is full of wisdom bombs – for people who haven’t heard that phrase before, what are they?
Wisdom bombs are statements that are so full of wisdom that they literally blow up in your face, leaving you reeling, clutching, and possibly temporarily blind.
What advice do you have for people who aspire to one day become a celebrity pastor like yourself?
You’ve either got it or you don’t. If you don’t have it, well, there’s always a career in setting bowling pins.
As a celebrity pastor, what does living All4God mean for you?
It means living every second with the pedal to the metal.
How can people keep up to date with yourself?

  • this cheapens our American heritage, its leaders, our Christian faith, our churches, seminaries, and the Bible. Sure you can say it’s just sattire, but why waste this much time and attract this many people – unless you want to get their attention – then MISLEAD them. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. This is a serious attempt to create complete disregard for any foundation we have!
