All4God Vision 7:Faith expressing itself through love

This is the final part of our seven part series on the core vision of All4God and how we can apply it to our lives. If you have missed any of the other parts you can get them by following the links at the end of this part.

Showing that what is important is “faith expressing itself through love” (Gal5v6)
At the end of the day nothing we achieve on earth will last. No matter how much money we earn, how much fame we gain, regardless of how many of the latest Playstation games we complete, it will have no significance in eternity. Exam results, football team scores, popularity – none of these will bare any weight on our entry into heaven. Instead, Matthew 25 warns us that it will depend on how we live – if we have faith in Jesus as saviour and express that through love we will be welcome in to heaven. But if we don’t trust Jesus as Saviour (and passages such as Matthew 7 make it clear that if we truly believe, there will be evidence in our lives as we strive to produce good fruit), then we will be turned away.
At the end of the day the only thing that is important is faith expressing itself through love. And so as a generation of young people seeking to live all4God it is vital that we let that show. It is vital that God’s love bursts forth in everything we do. We cannot afford to show bias in who we love – all are equal in the eye of God. We cannot only love those who will love us back – Jesus warns strongly against this in Matthew 5:46-48: “If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” We need to let our faith be visible to all by our acts of love. And by doing that then we will be advancing the kingdom of God.
This is the vision that is central to All4God. It is a vision that will lead to change, revival and life. It is a vision we can all apply to our lives (myself included) and see what we can do to better live all4God. It is a statement of intent that should shape what we do with our life. And hopefully it will spark something in your life. Hopefully as you have read each part you have been challenged to do more to live all4God, and you will look for ways to apply it to your life, to make the most of now to seek God’s face and to grab every opportunity to make a difference for God.
