Two Queues
Imagine you’re in a line, a queue. You’re going pretty quickly and you think, “Hey, this isn’t too bad.” Then you notice another queue. This queue however, is moving far slower than your own and you can’t possibly think why.
As you carry on down your line, you notice a few hold ups in the other line. You see people screaming, crying, running away, crawling away, anything to stop them going forward. They cling onto friends and loved ones, continuously crying, wailing. Then you notice why. They’re in the queue for Hell. You’re in the queue for Heaven.
Then you see your best friend amongst the crowds in that other queue, trying to crawl backwards, screaming. They see you too. They plead with you as the demons carry them away, “Why?” they scream, accusingly. “Why didn’t you tell me? Never once did you mention this to me.”
Will you let yourself be put in this position?
It says in James 5:20, “Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his ways will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins”.
Think about that – you could save someone from eternal death in Hell. You could start a Party in Heaven by saving someone. Or you could let them carry on, and end up screaming “Why?”
Sounds like a simple choice, doesn’t it? But also maybe a little frightening. Perhaps you feel that there is no point telling them, they wouldn’t believe you anyway. Or maybe you simply don’t know what to say. So pray. Ask God for confidence and words. Rely not on your own strength, but on His. And the good news is, after the first time, it gets easier.
