Speak Out

Why are we here? God promised us that if we believed in Jesus, we would go to Heaven. So, why are we still here?

Spreading the Gospel. Furthering God’s Kingdom. Building up people.

God still has a plan for us. God still has work for us to do here on earth. That is why we are still here.

Speak Out

These are the two things that we need, to speak out about Jesus, our Saviour.

1. Weakness

2. Fear

Weakness. If you look through the Bible, you will find that almost always, God has used the weak for His work. Not the strong, not the wise, but the weak. Through the weak, God has shown His people His love and glory. Through the weak, He has changed lives, revealed His power. It is through the weak, that God reaches out to people and brings dramatic changes into our lives.

Most of us would have probably been put in a position where we had to speak up for Jesus, for our faith. Most of us would have felt… weak. Most of us wouldn’t have felt strong, like we knew what we were doing. We would have doubted, questioned. We would have felt weak.

Yet, that is exactly what God looks for! God uses the weak. God can take the weak ones, see the potential inside, and turn them around, make them strong. Anybody can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed. Only God can see the full potential in each of us.

Fear. Of all the times that we have needed to speak out, I can guarantee that you would have been afraid. Our human instincts tell us to doubt, to question, to say “what will people think?” This is fear. We are instinctively afraid of what people will say about us, what people will think of us. We are afraid to stand up for what we believe in, for fear of speaking out.

This is exactly what God looks for. God looks for those who are afraid, so He can work miracles in our lives.

God has promised us that He will always give us the words to speak when we need it. God has promised that He will make us strong, He will give us what we need, so that we can spread the Gospel, tell others of His Word. Yet, there are still so many people who will not put themselves in a position where they need God to give them the words to speak. How can we know that His promises are true, if we never put ourselves in that position?

Christianity isn’t something that you can stand on the sidelines and watch. God wants you to get into it, to give Him a chance to bring out the best He possibly can out of you. Anybody can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed.
