All4God vision 6: Making every second and every action count
The grim reality of life is we never know when it will end. We may die. Christ could return. Or that non-Christian friend may move away suddenly, and our chance to make a difference in their lives will be lost.
Therefore living all4God means seizing every opportunity God gives us, not putting it off till a later date that may not come. It means praying that every day your actions may glorify God, and in some way give testimony to Him to those around you. It means trying to move beyond the casual, easy conversations about the weather, and on to discussion of the deeper issues in which spiritual seed may be planted. It means living each day as if it may be your last, and grabbing every opportunity as if it may be your last chance.
It mean refusing to give anything less than your best, because God is worthy of so much more than even our best. If we give Him 90% that means there is still 10% we are not giving!
We need to grab every opportunity to show God’s love to the world. In every conversation we need to be alert for opportunities to talk about our faith – 1 Peter 3:15 says “if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.” We will only be able to make the most of every opportunity if we are prepared for them in advance – this means praying that God would give you words through the power of the Holy Spirit, and that He would give you wisdom to know the right thing to do or say. And we won’t be able to have the impact this generation needs if we don’t take advantage of every opportunity.
