The world v the Word
God’s word helps us stay rooted. It speaks truth into our souls. It anchors us to righteousness in the tossing waves of culture’s folly and error. The word speaks truth that exposes culture’s lies
The world says we are the result of chance but the Word says we are fearfully and wonderfully made
The world says live for the moment but the Word says live for eternity
The world says life doesn’t start until birth but the Word says God knits us together in our mother’s womb
The world says marriage is for while you still feel the love but the Word says marriage is til death us do part
The world says worship fame, sex money and drugs but the Word says you shall have no other gods but Yahweh
The world tells us we get what we deserve but the Word tells us Jesus got what we deserved
The world says my will be done but the Word says thy will be done
The world says you are in this alone but the Word says by His mighty right hand God is upholding you
The world says seek comfort not trouble but the Word says He will be our comfort in times of trouble
The world tells you your life doesn’t matter but the Word says God loves us and He has great plans for us
The world says the diagnosis is terminal by the Word says by his wounds we are healed
The world says judge on appearance but the Word reminds us God looks at the heart
The world says it’s us v them, the Word says it’s us for them
The word says fear those who are different but the Word says love your neighbour
The world says seek revenge but the Word says turn the other cheek
The world says kill and destroy your enemies but the word says love your enemies
The world says seek safety but the Word says pick up your cross
The world says you are in control but the Word reminds us Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life
The world says death is the end but the Word says death where is your victory?
By getting deep into God’s word we learn what is true and right. We are reminded of the better story. Take time to get to know God’s word, not just an intellectual head knowledge of it, but a deep heart knowledge of faith in the truth of God’s breathed out word
